Royalton CHIC Cancun Adults Only All-Inclusive Resort. Is it worth it?

 

So, is Royalton Chic Cancun worth staying at? 

And how about that Diamond Club upscale upgrade? Should you get it?

It of course always depends on how flexible your budget is, what you're looking for, what you want, and what you care for the most.

There are two locations where you check-in in this this resort. There is the 'Diamond Club' tiny lounge with a 4 person capacity and then the 'Non Diamond Club' check in which is where you just walk up straight to counter and check in.

 Supposedly, we were assigned a 'butler' that's not really a butler, at all. he or she is more of a personal concierge that you contact with requests via the whatsapp mobile phone app, not kidding.

The video below is where we waited to be seen and check in. If you check out the video, it's pretty loud to be a lounge. 

 

He or She (butler) will supposedly be at your service and on top of it!

All they do is tell you what you have as a DC (Diamond Club) guest that normal guest doesn't have. 

It is not much of a difference unless you want access to entire facility which is kinda messed up in my opinion. It's not really any backstage pass, you just get to use all pools.

This is supposed to be like the VIP pass at the resort, but not really.

 

I decided to pay the higher 'Diamond Club' rate per night because I didn't want any hassle or wondering if I have or do not have access to the facility like a pool or a lounge.

 

The difference in nightly rate is in between $70 and $95 as of date this blog was published.

 

I got a pretty cool room in my opinion. I paid for a 'Luxury Junior Suite Ocean Front Diamond Club' and got the very last top floor on top to hear minimal noise and just hear the waves.

 

 

I don't know if it's because I have Gold Status with Marriott (Royalton is in Marriotts Portfolio), paid directly with them or purchased Diamond Club but I loved the room.

 

This is a very active facility on the Roof Top which is the one and only part of this resort I liked. No vendors walk up to you offering you merchandise and souvenirs while you're trying to relax.

The video above, the Italian restaurant and the ocean view from rooms are pretty much the only 3 good things at this resort.
